The Chief doesn’t want his people visit the hunters or befriends with them because before other hunters came on the island and made his people do all of hunting 24/7.

The Chief doesn’t want his people visit the hunters or befriends with them because the Chief doesn’t trust the Russians or the Aluets, and in the past, Captain Mitriff made them hunt from one moon to the next, never ceasing

The chief didn’t want his people to be friends with the Aleuts because they didn’t want them to hunt for them, or get involved in anything that they were doing.

The cheif did not want the people to go befreind them becuse the last time the Aleuts were on the island they had left with out giving the people otters fur.

The chief is scared that the hunters are going to leave without paying him. So the chief doesn’t want the villigers leaving to go to the camp.

The Cheif probabily doesn’t want them to leave without paying him.So if they do leave they might start a fight.
